DMCA & takedown requests
We honor legitimate takedown requests within 48 hours. This page tells you exactly how to file one and what we will do with it.
If you are an athlete
You can request removal of:
- A photo embed on your profile (Instagram iframe, YouTube embed, Getty editorial).
- A specific quote from a podcast transcript that misattributes you.
- Your entire athlete profile, no questions asked. Goodwill protection comes first.
Email [email protected] from any address you can prove you control (verified social handle, official sponsor page, federation member email). We do not require a notarized form. We do not require legal counsel. We will action the request within 48 hours and confirm by reply.
If you are a copyright holder (DMCA / Swiss CopA)
Send a written notice to [email protected] containing:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
- The exact URL on steelqueens.com where the material appears.
- Your contact information (name, email, postal address).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Upon receipt of a complete notice we will remove or disable access to the material within 48 hours and notify the user (if any) who uploaded or referenced it.
Counter-notice
If you believe content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address.
Bad-faith / abuse
Knowingly material misrepresentations in a takedown notice may result in liability under the law of your jurisdiction. We log every request, including obvious abuse attempts, and reserve the right to publish the notice itself if we believe it was filed to suppress lawful editorial commentary.
Press freedom & accountability
SteelQueens publishes accountability dossiers about federation governance and the broader female-bodybuilding ecosystem. Factual reporting of public statements with source citation is protected speech under Swiss Bundesverfassung Art. 17. A takedown notice will not be honored as a means of suppressing on-the-record reporting; we will respond with the source URLs and explain why the content stands.
