On Friday night in Las Vegas, Natalia Abraham Coelho won the Women’s Physique Olympia for the third time. Sarah Villegas, the four-time champion who has accused her for a year, finished third. The accusation is still there. Nobody in the sport has the authority to settle it.
The record
The division has had two dominant names for four years. According to the Olympia record book, Natalia Abraham Coelho won in 2022 and in 2025. Sarah Villegas won in 2023 and 2024 and has four titles in total, level with Juliana Malacarne for the division record. A fifth would have made the record hers alone (Fitness Volt, 24 Sep 2026).
In 2025, Coelho beat her. In 2026 she did it again: 1 Natalia Abraham Coelho, 2 Zama Benta, 3 Sarah Villegas, 4 Julia Cabarcos, 5 Brooke Walker (Generation Iron, 25 Sep 2026; the official scorecard had not been published when this was updated). Coelho now has three titles, Villegas four.
What was said, and by whom
After the 2025 Olympia, Villegas publicly suggested that Coelho’s physique had been shaped with PMMA, an injectable synthetic filler. In an RXMuscle interview, Ali Taktak, the commentator known as the Fitness Pope, went further. Villegas’s own Instagram profile lists him as her coach. He claimed a doctor from a Brazilian clinic had approached Villegas with procedure dates, and said: “I’ll say it in a deposition, and I’ll say it in a courtroom.” (Generation Iron, 26 Aug 2026)
The same report states plainly: “No publicly available medical documentation or other evidence has been presented establishing that Coelho used PMMA.”
Villegas’s own position, in December 2025: “Plastics, silicone, PMMA, oil fillers, or any form of muscle implants are simply not muscle.” On the other side, Fitness Volt reported that Bob Cicherillo and Shawn Ray called her campaign a “smear campaign”, stressing that PMMA is, technically, not a form of cheating.
At the 2026 press conference on 24 September, the two sat side by side. Asked whether she stood by her comments, Villegas said: “They haven’t changed.” She said she intended to bring a physique that could not be beaten “no matter what means are being used”. Coelho’s answer was one sentence: “If there is any fight, they are fighting with themselves because I haven’t said anything.”
The part nobody is arguing about
We take no side on the accusation, and there is nothing to take a side with: no evidence has been published. That is exactly the problem.
In most sports, an accusation like this goes somewhere. It goes to a testing body, a protest procedure, a hearing, a ruling that clears or sanctions someone. In Women’s Physique, as far as SteelQueens has been able to find, it goes nowhere.
The league knows how to write the rule. It already has, for one kind of show. The IFBB Pro League’s natural contest rules list “Muscle Implants or Injections of any kind”, Synthol included, among prohibited substances. We found no equivalent rule for the open shows, where the Olympia is judged, in the league’s published rules. Nor did we find a public procedure for one competitor to challenge another’s physique, or a body whose job is to answer. That is why both sides can be “right”: if nothing forbids it, “not cheating” and “not muscle” are not even about the same question.

So the accusation does not get resolved. It just hangs there. It follows a two-time champion onto every stage, with no way to be cleared. A four-time champion is left to keep repeating it in public, with no way to be proven right. Both of them lose something. The sport loses more.
The judges decided the placings. They could not decide this, and they were never asked to.
