Bev Francis is an Australian bodybuilder and powerlifter who competed at the highest levels of women's bodybuilding during the 1980s and early 1990s. A national shot put champion, Francis brought a rare combination of strength sports experience to competitive bodybuilding. She established herself as one of the division's most consistent top finishers over a seven-year period at the Ms. Olympia competition.
Francis made her mark beginning in 1986, when she placed second in the Women's Bodybuilding division at Ms. Olympia. She repeated that second-place finish in 1987 before placing third in the Women's Bodybuilding category in 1988, the same year she finished third in the Ms. Olympia overall competition. She continued to compete across both the Women's Bodybuilding and Ms. Olympia divisions in subsequent years. In 1989, Francis placed second in Women's Bodybuilding and third in the Ms. Olympia division. The following year, 1990, she secured second-place finishes in both Women's Bodybuilding and Ms. Olympia. From 1991 through 1992, Francis maintained her position as a runner-up, placing second at Ms. Olympia in both Women's Bodybuilding and the overall Ms. Olympia competition in 1991, and finishing second in Women's Bodybuilding in 1992. Across her competitive span, Francis appeared in the Ms. Olympia lineup a total of twelve times, recording seven second-place finishes, four third-place finishes, and one additional top-three result in the Women's Bodybuilding division. Her sustained presence in the upper ranks of the competition reflected her technical consistency and ability to maintain condition across multiple seasons during a formative era in women's bodybuilding.
